Huawei Predicts 100,000-Fold Rise in Global Token Consumption by 2035
Huawei's "Intelligent World 2035: From Vision to Action" report forecasts that global annual token consumption will increase 100,000-fold by 2035, with AI-agent traffic accounting for over 90% of the total.

Huawei has projected a substantial increase in global digital consumption by the year 2035. The company's "Intelligent World 2035: From Vision to Action" report forecasts that worldwide annual token consumption will rise by a factor of 100,000.
AI-agent traffic is expected to constitute more than 90% of this total consumption. The report posits that artificial intelligence is shifting the digital landscape from an application-centric model towards one centered on agents. This transition is anticipated to significantly influence digital infrastructure demands.
The forecasts extend to computing power and cost efficiency. Huawei estimates that the scale of computing clusters will grow 100-fold, while the cost of AI-agent tasks is predicted to decrease by 1,000 times.
The report was released alongside the "Global Digital Intelligence Index 2026." It outlines ten key propositions covering areas such as artificial general intelligence (AGI), embodied intelligence, storage, connectivity, autonomous driving, and AI infrastructure.
