Huawei produces 381 types of tau chips, AI falsifies Le Shan Buddha maintenance video
Huawei announced it has produced 381 types of tau chips for use in smartphones, AI, and vehicles. Meanwhile, authorities in China debunked an AI-generated video depicting maintenance work on the Le Shan Buddha statue.
Huawei has announced the successful design and mass production of 381 distinct "tau" chips, designated for use across its product lines. These chips are integrated into devices spanning smartphones, artificial intelligence applications, general computing, networking infrastructure, and intelligent vehicle systems.
In separate developments, authorities in China have addressed misinformation. The administration for the Le Shan Grand Buddha Scenic Area has confirmed that a viral video purporting to show maintenance workers cleaning the statue's ears and nostrils was synthetically generated using AI. The area has conducted multiple maintenance sessions this year, reporting no obstructions in these areas.
Furthermore, regulatory bodies are investigating fraudulent practices within the food delivery sector. Reports from Hunan, Hubei, and Yunnan provinces revealed instances where "bright kitchen" monitoring systems were deliberately obscured, with cameras misdirected to avoid showcasing actual food preparation. Investigations have led to business suspensions and new rectification campaigns.
In the tech industry, Elon Musk confirmed that his company SpaceXAI will be renamed SpaceXSI. This follows a trend of focusing on "superintelligence," a term popularized by former US President Donald Trump, indicating a strategic shift in the company's AI endeavors.
