Huawei Reiterates No Car Manufacturing, Xiaomi Launches New Phones
Huawei reaffirms its focus on providing automotive intelligence technology rather than building cars, while Xiaomi unveils its latest smartphone series. Apple also introduces a new feature for its iOS in China.
Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei has once again stated that the Chinese technology giant will not manufacture cars. He emphasized the company's commitment to leveraging its expertise in intelligent automotive solutions and collaborating with existing car manufacturers.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has launched its new Xiaomi 18 Pro smartphone series, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The devices start at 5999 yuan, with special editions including a transparent model and a Pro Max variant also announced.
In the mobile sector, Apple has introduced a region-specific feature in China for iOS Beta 27.2. This update allows users to block 'shake-to-advertise' features by restricting apps' access to motion sensor data, currently only visible to Chinese App Store accounts.
Xiaomi's President Lu Weibing also commented on rising memory costs, highlighting the importance of product innovation. Separately, the platform Xianyu denied accusations of content involving minors, stating that screenshots circulating online originated from other platforms.
