Huawei Releases Alpha 6000 Antenna Solution for Operator Networks
Huawei has unveiled its "Alpha 6000" series of integrated antenna solutions in Paris, designed for operator network construction. The technology aims to support future U6G deployments and enhance network performance.
Huawei announced today in Paris the release of its "Alpha 6000" series of fully integrated antenna solutions, targeted at operator network construction. Presented at a global antenna technology forum, the solution focuses on coverage, enhanced uplink performance, digital twins, and site digitalization.
The Alpha 6000 series incorporates innovations like SCIF (Signal Coupling Injection Feeding) technology, which connects RRUs to antennas without traditional feeders. This reportedly reduces link loss and passive intermodulation issues. The design also integrates AAU and passive antennas, saving space at existing sites for future frequency band expansions.
Regarding uplink capabilities, the solution utilizes SUEF (Signal Uplink Enhancement Frame) technology to double the number of uplink channels without increasing antenna size. Huawei claims this provides a 2 to 5dB uplink gain for the Sub3GHz frequency band, with the overall solution potentially improving end-to-end uplink experience by approximately 50%.
For network digitalization, the Alpha 6000 series includes a new AISU (Antenna Information Sync Unit) that offers sub-meter level precision for antenna parameters like azimuth and tilt, allowing for remote reading. This aims to reduce manual site surveys and improve operational efficiency. Huawei also introduced a digitalizing pole to support digital management of antennas and AAUs, enhancing data collection for site planning, construction, and maintenance.
