Huawei Releases Mate 90 Smartphone With Kirin 9030 Chip
Huawei has unveiled its new Mate 90 smartphone, powered by the company's latest flagship Kirin 9030 processor. The device starts at 5999 yuan and offers significant performance upgrades.
Huawei has officially launched its Mate 90 smartphone, featuring the newly developed Kirin 9030 flagship processor. The release was announced at the company's recent product event.
The Mate 90 series starts at a price of 5999 yuan (approximately $820 USD) for the 12GB+256GB configuration. Higher storage options include 12GB+512GB for 6999 yuan and 12GB+1TB for 8499 yuan.
The Kirin 9030 chipset brings notable performance improvements over its predecessor, the Kirin 9020. Huawei reports a 13% increase in CPU speed, a 54% jump in GPU performance, and a 13% boost for the NPU, resulting in a 27% overall system performance enhancement.
In terms of security, the Kirin 9030 includes a mobile security processor (MSP) with support for post-quantum cryptography algorithms, aiming to protect against future quantum computing threats. The phone features a 6.75-inch flat display and boasts IP68 dust and water resistance.
The device is equipped with a triple rear camera system: a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture and OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and OIS, and a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The Mate 90 runs on HarmonyOS 7 and incorporates various AI functionalities and cross-device connectivity features.
