Huawei Releases New Trifold Phone With Privacy Display
Huawei has launched its third trifold phone in China. The Mate XT 2 features an inward-folding design and includes a privacy-enhancing display.

Huawei has released its third trifold phone in China, the Mate XT 2. The device adopts an inward-folding form factor, similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold.
Notably, the Mate XT 2 is also the first foldable phone to incorporate a privacy-enhancing display, a feature mirroring Samsung's addition to the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year.
The company's previous trifold model, the Mate XT launched in late 2024, utilized an accordion-like folding design. This design eliminated the need for a separate cover screen but left portions of the delicate folding display permanently exposed.
The Mate XT 2 aims to address durability and privacy concerns in the foldable market by integrating a refined design with advanced screen technology, following trends set by competitors like Samsung.
