Huawei Showcases Six Global Energy Projects Highlighting AI-Energy Synergy
Huawei presented six global energy projects at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event, demonstrating the potential of integrating artificial intelligence with energy systems. These projects cover the entire electricity production and consumption chain.
Huawei showcased six global energy projects at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event in Shanghai, focusing on the synergy between artificial intelligence (AI) and energy production. The summit gathered over 600 industry representatives to discuss the integration of digital and intelligent technologies into energy systems.
These initiatives, spanning various stages of electricity generation, transmission, and consumption, as well as domestic and international markets, demonstrate practical applications and mark a significant step forward for the sector's digital and intelligent transformation.
Specific project examples include smart grids in Brazil and China, intelligent distribution networks, and high-voltage substations.
Philippe Adam, Secretary General of CIGRE, noted that the energy industry is undergoing a major transformation driven by the energy transition, AI data centers, and digitalization. Huawei highlighted the low-voltage level as a key area for AI applications to improve grid management.
David Sun, CEO of Huawei's Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit, emphasized three priorities: digital capabilities, digital infrastructure, and a digital regulatory asset base (RAB) to unlock the potential of the new power system. Huawei plans to continue collaborating with industry players to foster innovation and modernize the sector.
