Huawei Teases New X2 Pro Router with Book-Like Design
Huawei is preparing to launch a new router, the X2 Pro, featuring an unconventional book-like design and MESH support. The device was hinted at by Huawei's consumer division head.
Huawei has provided hints about an upcoming router model, the X2 Pro, which deviates from typical designs with its distinctive appearance. He Gang, the head of Huawei's consumer business group, shared an image on social media that revealed the new device. The router is notably shaped like a book and features a wood-grain finish.
The revealed image also shows a "MESH" logo on the top of the device, suggesting it will support mesh networking capabilities. This feature allows multiple routers to connect and form a seamless network, enhancing Wi-Fi coverage throughout a home or office.
Further evidence of the impending release comes from an update to Huawei's Smart Life App. The app's changelog indicates support for the "router X2 Pro," pointing towards its integration into Huawei's smart home ecosystem. This suggests the device will be managed through the existing app.
The X2 Pro is expected to be positioned within Huawei's router lineup, likely between the existing X1 Pro and X3 Pro models. Specific technical specifications and an official release date are yet to be announced by the company.
