Huawei Unveils LUTERRA S2 Energy System and Installer Strategy

Huawei Digital Power held its 7th Global Installer Summit in Dongguan from October 21 to 23, bringing together more than 1,000 installers and partners from 54 countries. The summit focused on evolving industry standards for home energy management and the integration of new technologies into residential green energy ecosystems.

The company introduced the LUTERRA S2, described as its first full-silicon carbide (Full-SiC) all-in-one energy system. Designed for simplified logistics and assembly, the unit targets a 10-minute installation time. Huawei reports that the system offers a 10% increase in usable capacity and a 43% increase in energy lifespan. The product is scheduled for release in the European market in November, followed by the Asia-Pacific region in December.

During the event, participants competed in an installation challenge to test the efficiency of the new hardware, with the winning team completing the setup in two minutes and 32 seconds. Discussions also centered on shifting business models from individual hardware sales to integrated platforms that link homeowners, installers, financial institutions, and grid operators.

Huawei currently serves over 4.3 million homeowners globally. The company aims to leverage these technological and process improvements to further its footprint in the residential renewable energy sector.
