Huawei Unveils New AI Data Center Infrastructure Model
Huawei has introduced its Grid-Interactive AIDC solution at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. The model aims to integrate AI data center infrastructure with the power grid.

Shanghai – Huawei unveiled its new Grid-Interactive AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) solution during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai. This new model seeks to integrate data center infrastructure with the power grid to achieve more efficient energy usage and enhanced stability.
The solution directly integrates data center management systems with the operational control of the power grid. This allows for real-time adjustment of data center energy consumption based on the grid's load and price fluctuations. Huawei believes this model will significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Traditionally, there has been limited interaction between data centers and power grids. The Huawei Grid-Interactive AIDC solution facilitates dynamic cooperation that benefits both parties. When grid load is low or renewable energy production is high, data centers can increase their operations. Conversely, during peak load periods, data center energy consumption can be reduced without significant impact on services.
As technology advances, data center energy consumption continues to grow. The Huawei Grid-Interactive AIDC solution offers a novel approach to manage this increasing demand while supporting more sustainable energy solutions. However, the company has not yet provided details on the solution's large-scale deployment or its potential impact on data center industry standards.
