Huawei Unveils New Energy System with AI and Energy Synergy

SHANGHAI – Huawei presented a new energy system that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and energy at its HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 conference, highlighting six global demonstration projects. The event explored the integration of energy transformation with digital and intelligent technologies.
The global energy sector is undergoing significant changes, with distributed renewable energy and grid stability being key. AI is increasingly seen as crucial for the traditional power system, particularly in managing low-voltage grids where challenges can impact electricity accessibility. Huawei emphasizes that effective management of low-voltage networks requires systematic and transparent approaches.
"The essence of transparency in low voltage is simple: faster data, higher quality, and better cost-efficiency," said David Sun, CEO of Huawei's Digital Power business unit. He stated that to unlock a new power system, the industry must prioritize digital talent, digital infrastructure, and a regulated digital asset base.
Six global demonstration projects showcased successes in digital and intelligent transformation across various scenarios. These included CEMIG's digital and intelligent grid in Brazil and China Southern Power Grid's new energy system demonstration. The projects collectively illustrate successful practices throughout the energy value chain in the intelligent era.
Huawei will continue to leverage its strengths in information and communication technology (ICT) and collaborate with global energy companies to drive industry innovation and modernization.
