Huawei Unveils Six Global Energy Projects

Huawei unveiled six global energy projects at its HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event, focusing on digital and intelligent transformation within the energy sector. These initiatives aim to bridge energy production with digital technologies, marking a significant step toward a new energy system.

The "AI × Energy: Towards a New Power System" summit brought together over 600 international representatives from power companies, industry organizations, and media. Discussions centered on integrating the energy transition with digital and smart technologies, emphasizing the role of decentralized renewable energy sources and improved grid resilience.

Philippe Adam, Secretary-General of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), noted that the electricity sector is undergoing a profound transformation driven by the energy transition, AI data centers, and digitalization. Huawei believes AI is essential for the survival of power systems, particularly in managing low-voltage networks, which often present a bottleneck.

David Sun, CEO of Huawei's Electric Power Digitalization business, highlighted the importance of low-voltage transparency for faster data, better quality, and increased cost-effectiveness. He outlined three key priorities for establishing a new energy system: digital talent, digital infrastructure, and a digital regulated asset base.

Looking ahead, Huawei plans to leverage its strengths in information and communication technology (ICT). The company intends to collaborate with global energy groups, standardization bodies, and ecosystem partners to drive innovation and modernize the industry.
