Huawei updates MatePad Mini with device-to-device network sharing

Huawei has issued a HarmonyOS 7.0.0.111 SP16 update for the MatePad Mini, introducing cross-device network sharing capabilities.

4 November 2026

Huawei has begun rolling out the HarmonyOS 7.0.0.111 SP16 update to its MatePad Mini tablet series. The approximately 657 MB update introduces a cross-device network sharing feature, allowing the tablet to connect with other devices running HarmonyOS 7, including smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The feature allows devices to share mobile network resources, providing more stable connectivity in areas with weak signals or high network congestion. Users can establish these connections by bringing devices into proximity or by signing into the same user account on both devices.

Functionality varies by device category. While phone-to-tablet sharing supports calls, SMS, and eSIM capabilities, phone-to-phone sharing is limited to network data access. A single host device can provide network access to up to three additional devices simultaneously. The system utilizes cloud-based acceleration to maintain connection quality.
