Huawei Upgrades Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution for Southern Africa
Huawei launched its upgraded Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution for Southern Africa at the Huawei Network Summit 2026 in Johannesburg. The upgrade focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into network services.

Johannesburg, July 27, 2026 – Huawei unveiled its upgraded Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution for the Southern African region at the Huawei Network Summit 2026 held in Johannesburg. The updated solution operates under the "Secure and Intelligent Connectivity" philosophy, aiming to advance all-intelligence across industries in collaboration with customers and partners.
The upgrade is driven by the rapid growth of AI agents, shifting AI applications from daily office tasks to critical production services. The industry focus has moved from measuring token consumption to daily active agents (DAA), necessitating next-generation network upgrades.
Leon Wang, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, stated that as AI moves into core production, networks are transitioning from ubiquitous ultra-broadband to an AI-centric architecture. This architecture is built on four pillars: lossless compute to unleash computing power, integrated sensing and communication for AI perception, full-scope security to address AI-driven threats, and network autonomy to ensure always-on services.
Vincent Chen, Vice President of Enterprise Business, Southern Africa Region at Huawei, noted that AI is a key driver of global innovation, and its adoption in Africa is transitioning from pilot explorations to real-world deployments across finance, education, and public services. Huawei aims to build secure and reliable network infrastructure suitable for the AI era in collaboration with its partners.
During the event, Huawei also introduced its upgraded Xinghe Intelligent Network product portfolio and the Xinghe AI CloudCampus SaaS Service Platform for the Southern African region. Shi Lei, Vice President of the NCE Data Communication Domain, explained that intelligent operations and maintenance (O&M) was previously a luxury for large enterprises, but the SaaS platform now enables small and medium-sized enterprises to access AI-powered network services affordably and easily.
