Huawei Watch GT 6 Series Starts HarmonyOS 7 Beta Update

Huawei has commenced the public beta testing phase for HarmonyOS 7 on its Watch GT 6 series smartwatches. The update, which began recruitment yesterday, brings a significantly revamped user experience with visual enhancements and new functionalities.

The core of the update is a redesigned system interface featuring new light and shadow effects on watch faces and in multitasking lists, aiming for a more comfortable interaction. A new "Light Dome" watch face is introduced, offering a delicate and transparent display of light and shadow.

Users will also find new interactive watch faces, including the "Cute Pet" micro-movement face that encourages activity with a virtual panda character, and the "Myriad" face allowing customization with various widgets like hydration, weather, and a "panda tap wood block" feature.

Health tracking receives notable upgrades. The "Health Clover" feature is rebranded as the "Health Life" application, incorporating a diet dimension. The always-on display functionality has been renamed. Additionally, the watch now supports advanced power meters and bike trainers for cycling, and skiing functions have been expanded with new sport types and data analysis.

The beta program is now open for eligible users with Huawei or other brands' phones and tablets, who can register through the "My Huawei" or "Services" app.
