Huawei's HarmonyOS Device Count Exceeds 90 Million

Huawei announced that the number of devices running its HarmonyOS operating system has surpassed 90 million. The growth trajectory indicates the system is nearing its goal of 100 million devices.

1 October 2026

Huawei has announced that its HarmonyOS operating system now runs on over 90 million devices. The milestone was revealed by Richard Yu, an executive director at Huawei Technologies, during a recent product launch event.

The rapid expansion of HarmonyOS highlights its growing adoption. In March, Huawei projected that the system would surpass 100 million devices before the end of the year. At that time, 47 million devices were equipped with HarmonyOS 5 and HarmonyOS 6.

HarmonyOS 6 was officially released in June 2025. By April 2026, devices running HarmonyOS 5 and HarmonyOS 6 had reached 50 million. Separately, Huawei noted that its open-source ecosystem, OpenHarmony, has accumulated over 1.3 billion devices.

Furthermore, Huawei reported that as of June 2026, the global developer community for HarmonyOS had grown to over 11 million. The Huawei AppGallery features more than 380,000 HarmonyOS applications and services. Third-party data indicates HarmonyOS has become the second-largest smartphone operating system in China, holding a 19% market share in the first quarter of 2026.
