Huawei's 'Jing Whale' Battery Platform Is A System, Not A Single Battery

Harmony Intelligent Mobility (鸿蒙智行) has addressed public inquiries regarding Huawei's 'Jing Whale' battery platform, clarifying that it is an integrated system rather than a singular battery. The company addressed these points in a unified response to questions about its batteries.

The 'Jing Whale' platform is designed with over 400 sealing points, achieving IPX8 static waterproof and IPX9K dynamic waterproof ratings. It can withstand submersion in 1 meter of water for 48 hours without leakage, and its resistance to water flow impact is seven times that of the national standard. An innovative 'breakwater' sealing design increases sealability by 200%, coupled with dual liquid ingress detection sensors for early warning.

For ultra-fast charging scenarios, the platform incorporates a thermal separation, dual-surface liquid cooling architecture. Cooling plates are integrated between battery cells, resulting in a fourfold increase in cooling area and a doubled cooling rate. This ensures rapid heat dissipation even under 5C/6C fast charging conditions.

The platform also features intelligent longevity technology trained on extensive driving data. It learns user charging habits and usage scenarios to dynamically adjust voltage, current, and temperature, extending battery life. As of June 2026, the 'Jing Whale' platform had seen over 1.43 million battery packs and more than 160 million cells delivered, all reported to be operating stably.
