Hubbell Trading Post Tour to Visit Communities Across the West

The Western National Parks (WNP) will launch its 2026-27 Hubbell Trading Post tour, bringing the traditions of the historic site to communities across the western United States. The tour aims to connect visitors with Diné (Navajo) artistry, knowledge, and generational traditions.

The tour will make stops at national park sites and other public venues throughout the West. Attendees can view and learn about authentic Navajo weavings, sterling silver jewelry, and other works by Indigenous artisans. The events are designed to provide insight into the people and traditions behind the artwork.

Diné Trader Wallace James Jr. is scheduled to give talks, sharing his experiences and connection to the trading post and its community. Weaver Tonita Yazzie will demonstrate traditional weaving techniques, offering a close-up look at the skill and patience involved in the craft.

These gatherings are intended to foster genuine connections between visitors and artists, support Indigenous artists, and highlight the living traditions associated with Hubbell Trading Post. Purchases made during the tour will support the artists and contribute to the operational support of Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site and other WNP partner sites.
