Hubei Province in China has expanded its subsidy program for smart home products and other consumer electronics. New regulations, effective October 1, 2026, offer a 15% government subsidy on selected items purchased through trade-in schemes.
The expanded list of eligible products now includes several new categories. These encompass smart cleaning appliances, such as robot vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers, as well as smart service robots, including domestic robot assistants and exoskeletons. Smart headphones, smart door locks, a wide range of smart kitchen appliances like dishwashers and ovens, and smart range hoods and toilets are also now included.
Furthermore, the subsidy now covers digital cameras, action cameras, and drones. Products designed for the elderly, such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters, along with smart furniture like massage chairs and smart beds, are also eligible for support. The initiative aims to boost the adoption of smart consumer products and enhance the quality of home life.
Consumers can receive a 15% subsidy on the final retail price of the product, after all other discounts are applied. The subsidy is limited to one unit per consumer per product category, with a maximum subsidy of 1500 Chinese Yuan (CNY) per item. The program also encourages the replacement of older appliances with new ones, promoting sustainable consumption.
