Humanoid robot breaks Usain Bolt's 100-meter record

A Chinese humanoid robot has broken the 100-meter world record previously held by sprint legend Usain Bolt at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing.

During a preliminary heat on Saturday, Tiangong Ultra, developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, completed the 100-meter distance in 9.39 seconds. Following closely was the Honor-developed Lightning robot, finishing in 9.47 seconds. Bolt's previous record, set in 2009, was 9.58 seconds.

The achievement was one of several notable performances at the event, which serves as an annual showcase for advancements in bipedal robot technology. The games aim to highlight progress in robotics and their potential applications.
