Hunan province targets European investment in Germany and Switzerland
Hunan officials concluded a series of trade meetings in Germany and Switzerland, seeking to attract European capital into the Chinese province’s manufacturing and AI sectors.
Representatives from Hunan province held a series of economic conferences in Germany and Switzerland from October 27 to November 1. The initiative aimed to promote the province's investment climate and facilitate business partnerships between local entities and European firms.
In Germany, discussions centered on the automotive sector and advanced manufacturing. Liu Suyue, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, noted the presence of major German firms such as Bosch, Volkswagen, and BASF. Regional data indicates that revenue from German-invested enterprises in Hunan grew by 117 percent between 2021 and 2025.
Events in Switzerland focused on artificial intelligence and life sciences. Officials highlighted the province's existing industrial clusters and supply chain infrastructure as key advantages for foreign entrants. The provincial government indicated that it intends to prioritize the development of these collaborative projects in the coming months to strengthen trade ties.
