HunterLab Launches Vista L2 with Extended 710 nm Measurement Range

HunterLab has launched the Vista® L2, a new generation transmission spectrophotometer designed for measuring the color and turbidity of transparent and translucent liquids, as well as solids. The system extends its spectral measurement range to 710 nanometers and integrates the company's advanced color analysis software, Essentials L2. The update also increases computational power and storage capacity.

The expanded spectral range enhances the ability to differentiate true color, measured as absorbance, from turbidity, measured as light scatter. This clarity helps manufacturers detect instability in liquid products early and assess color stability with greater confidence. The 710 nm range also allows for chlorophyll measurement at 630, 670, and 710 nm, aligning with industry methods used for monitoring oxidation and shelf-life protection of edible oils.

The Vista L2 builds on the established Vista platform, retaining its transmission geometry, full-spectrum LED illumination, and touch interface. New features include 32 GB of internal memory for millions of measurements and an HDMI output for displaying results on external screens. A built-in wavelength verification standard ensures consistent performance. The Essentials L2 software is updated via USB drive or direct internet connection.
