HydroEdge Solutions Acquires RES Water Stake, Forms Appalachian Basin Water Management Platform
HydroEdge Solutions has acquired a majority interest in RES Water, creating one of the largest independent full-cycle water management platforms serving the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.

Canonsburg, Pennsylvania – HydroEdge Solutions announced its new parent company, WET Tech, LLC, has acquired a majority interest in RES Water. This consolidation creates one of the largest independent, full-cycle water management platforms serving the Marcellus and Utica shale regions across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
The combined entity operates across the entire water lifecycle, from pipeline and on-pad management to hauling, treatment, recycling, and storage. It employs approximately 350 people and manages five water treatment, recycling, and storage facilities in Pennsylvania, with a total storage capacity of roughly 700,000 barrels and processing capacity of up to 116,000 barrels per day. An automated transfer and trucking network supports the operations across the basin.
Management anticipates the combined company will reduce costs per barrel for customers through optimized routing and reduced trucking miles. It also expects to improve service reliability and environmental performance by increasing water reuse, decreasing freshwater withdrawals, and lowering emissions. Future growth is targeted through infrastructure expansion, strategic acquisitions, and mineral extraction from produced water.
HydroEdge Solutions, founded in 2013, provides technology-enabled water logistics and automation. RES Water, established in 2008, is a regional provider of water management solutions for shale gas operations.
