South African software development startup HyperDev has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding from a network of European and UK venture capital investors. The funding will support the company's AI-powered coding platform, which is approaching 100,000 users.

HyperDev's platform, which had alpha testing versions in 2025 and launched version 11 early this year, allows users to build applications more quickly using AI. The platform's 'Guided Mode' feature helps users leverage code generated by large language models more effectively, enabling the rapid creation of working websites and applications. It also enables non-technical users to hire developers to implement AI-generated software.

The platform aims to address the challenges that arise after code generation. "Every AI coding tool on the market was built on the assumption that generating code was the hard part. We built HyperDev because we knew the hard part was what came after, and nobody else seems to be solving that," said Piotr Sobolewski, Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder at HyperDev.

Investors, including Falk Albers, managing director at Reinsurance Intelligence Quotient (RIQ) and general partner at Loom Ventures, highlighted HyperDev's combination of deep AI research and a built-in distribution channel through millions of developers. "While most vibe coding tools are thin wrappers around third-party LLMs, HyperDev is building proprietary technology that makes code generation actually useful," Albers stated. Hypedev intends to use the new funding to enhance its position in AI-assisted software development and expand its user base.
