Hyperscale Data Installs Robots at Michigan AI Facility
Hyperscale Data has begun installing Omnipresent Robotics OPR-R2 robots at its Michigan AI facility. The order for 143 robots aims to support data collection and physical AI training.

LAS VEGAS, July 17, 2026 – Hyperscale Data, an AI data center company, announced today that its subsidiary, Omnipresent Robotics, has started installing OPR-R2 robots at the company's Michigan AI facility. The first robot was assembled at the facility on July 16, marking the beginning of the company's large-scale visual data collection and physical AI training program.
Omnipresent Robotics has an order for 143 OPR-R2 robots, with up to 100 anticipated for installation at the Michigan facility. Remaining units are expected to be allocated for partner pilot programs. The company is developing a dedicated, roughly 100,000-square-foot robotics facility within the premises to support robot deployment and operation.
The company estimates this initiative could support the creation of over 500 jobs within the next three years. The OPR-R2 robots are designed to perform day-to-day tasks, collecting high-quality visual, spatial, and interaction data. This data is intended to train and improve advanced AI models, including large language models and robotics foundation models.
All data generated through the program will be processed and housed in the United States. Will Horne, CEO of Hyperscale Data, stated that the arrival of the first OPR-R2 robot in Michigan represents the commencement of an important real-world data generation program. He emphasized that the approximately 100,000-square-foot dedicated facility will serve as a key center for generating and processing physical data within the U.S.
The program aims to address a primary challenge in physical and embodied AI: the availability of high-quality, real-world data. The robots will perform practical tasks while capturing the visual and physical information needed to train AI systems to better understand and navigate the physical world. Hyperscale Data intends to release further details in future announcements.
