Hyundai Motor Group Outlines Physical AI Vision at San Francisco Summit

Hyundai Motor Group has outlined its strategy for achieving its "Physical AI" vision at the San Francisco AI Summit. Executive Chair Euisun Chung stated the group is transforming from a traditional auto manufacturer into a "Physical AI solution company," with the ultimate goal of integrated intelligence at the city level.

The group plans to leverage its manufacturing expertise and robotics capabilities, including those from Boston Dynamics, to create a data flywheel system. This system will continuously connect real-world operational data with AI model advancements. Key strategic partnerships with technology leaders such as NVIDIA and Waymo are crucial to this plan.

Chung emphasized the group's expansion into areas like autonomous driving, robotics, and AI-defined factories. "The ultimate Physical AI vision we pursue is the realization of integrated intelligence at the city level, where urban infrastructure is organically connected and operated through AI," he stated.

The company will also collaborate with NVIDIA to develop a reference platform for robots. Hyundai Motor Group is further committed to supporting Korea's robotics and AI ecosystem through domestic investments.
