IAB Tech Lab Introduces AAMP 3.0 for Advertising Process Standardization
IAB Tech Lab has released Advertising Ancillary Messaging Protocol (AAMP) 3.0, aiming to standardize the advertising buying process and automate the connection between RFPs and purchase commitments.

IAB Tech Lab has released the new version of the Advertising Ancillary Messaging Protocol (AAMP) 3.0, intended to establish a common standard for the digital advertising procurement process. The protocol aims to automate and standardize what has historically been a manual stage in media buying, connecting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to purchase commitments.
The technology is designed to enhance the efficiency of processes within the advertising industry. Previously, the handling of RFP requests and their linkage to final purchases required significant manual effort, leading to potential errors and delays in transactions. AAMP 3.0 seeks to address these issues by introducing a unified standard.
The development of the protocol has involved collaboration among industry stakeholders, with the objective of fostering a more efficient and transparent environment for digital advertising. The adoption of this standard could significantly expedite advertising purchase-related processes and reduce the incidence of errors.
The AAMP 3.0 protocol is currently undergoing a public comment period. Industry participants have until October 22, 2026, to provide feedback and suggestions for the protocol's finalization before its potential official adoption.
