IAdea releases XMP-8550 and XMP-8552 4K kiosk media players
IAdea Deutschland has introduced the XMP-8550 and XMP-8552 media player series, designed for interactive kiosk applications and digital signage.
The XMP-8550 and XMP-8552 units run on the Android 12 operating system and support 4K video output. Each device is enclosed in an aluminum chassis designed for heat dissipation and protection against physical impact in high-traffic or demanding environments.
The hardware utilizes a quad-core processor and includes a watchdog timer to maintain continuous system stability. The XMP-8552 model adds features such as Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Wi-Fi connectivity, simplifying power and network integration for modular kiosk setups.
IAdea emphasizes the energy efficiency of these units, stating they generate lower CO2 emissions than standard mini-PCs. The devices support HTML5 web standards and feature expansion options for peripheral integration, such as cameras and sensors, to serve sectors including retail and transit.
