ICEY 2: Chinese Action Game Sequel Crowdfunding to Begin October 1
Crowdfunding for ICEY 2, the sequel to the 2016 Chinese action game ICEY, will commence on October 1, 2026. The game will continue the story of the protagonist, ICEY.

A sequel to the acclaimed Chinese action game ICEY, titled ICEY 2, is set to launch its crowdfunding campaign on October 1, 2026. The announcement, made by original creator Lao Marko, follows the original game's ten-year anniversary and promises to continue the narrative of the half-mechanical protagonist, ICEY, picking up on plot threads from the first game's ending.
ICEY 2 will significantly expand its predecessor's world, boasting triple the map size and double the gameplay length compared to the original. Player choices made during gameplay will directly influence the layout of paths and areas, enhancing replayability. A key narrative innovation is the introduction of a dual-narrator system, where two distinct voices will comment on the protagonist's actions, potentially offering conflicting interpretations of events and reinforcing the series' meta-narrative style.
The combat system has undergone a total overhaul. Heavy attacks and permanent shield values from the first game have been removed, replaced by a new parry mechanic. Shields are now skill-based, demanding precise timing. A new "mask system" allows players to equip two masks, granting different buffs to attacks and abilities, fostering diverse combat builds. The number of bosses has increased, featuring new original enemies and returning characters from the first game.
ICEY 2 is slated for a Steam release between April and May 2027, with a planned price of 48 yuan in China. A mobile version is also in development and is expected to launch approximately one year after the PC release, priced at 25 yuan. The original ICEY, released in 2016, garnered significant praise for its unique narration, fast-paced combat, and meta elements.
