iconectiv launches tool to combat caller ID spoofing and robocalls
iconectiv TruReach Certify service authenticates legitimate calls and identifies illegal robocalls, aiming to restore trust in caller ID. The solution is built on the STIR/SHAKEN standard.

iconectiv, a company involved in the global communications ecosystem, has launched its TruReach Certify service to combat the rise in caller ID spoofing and illegal robocalls. This new service aims to restore consumer trust in caller identification by ensuring only legitimate entities can participate in the caller ID ecosystem.
The initiative addresses a significant increase in unwanted calls. Globally, illegal robocalls reached 85 billion in 2018, a 325% jump from the previous year. In the U.S. alone, these calls constituted nearly half of all unwanted calls in 2019, according to the FCC.
TruReach Certify serves as the foundation for the STIR/SHAKEN framework, a system designed to authenticate caller IDs. This allows service providers to verify calls originating from legitimate subscribers and businesses, thereby enabling consumers to trust the displayed caller information. The service provides a national caller ID verification solution.
iconectiv CEO Richard Jacowleff stated that the company is committed to enhancing consumer confidence in voice communications. The TruReach Certify service is already deployed in the U.S., where iconectiv acts as the Secure Telephone Identity Policy Administrator. The solution is available for international deployment to countries looking to mitigate robocalling.
