Research firm IDC unveiled its new AI-powered platform, IDC Quanta, at its Directions 2026 event in Boston. The platform is designed to embed intelligence directly into decision-making tools for the AI economy, providing trusted insights within professional workflows.

IDC Quanta integrates artificial intelligence and data directly into tools that professionals use daily, such as email and collaboration platforms. This integration aims to accelerate and streamline decision-making by reducing the need to search for and synthesize information from disparate sources. The platform also allows for the secure combination of proprietary enterprise data with IDC's research.

The platform is built on five core principles: being embedded within workflows, contextualizing insights with enterprise data, ensuring enterprise-grade privacy and control, delivering aware and proactive intelligence, and maintaining rigorous, sourced analysis grounded in IDC's decades of data and expertise.

Furthermore, IDC announced it is developing a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and collaborating with Anthropic to bring IDC's intelligence directly into Claude AI workflows. This partnership will enable entitlement-based access to IDC's proprietary research natively within Anthropic environments, positioning IDC intelligence as a seamless extension of existing enterprise AI tools.
