Ideal Option Reports 96% Opioid Abstinence for Long-Term Patients in Washington
Ideal Option's 2025 Annual Outcomes Report for Washington state shows 96% of long-term patients achieved sustained abstinence from opioids and stimulants, amid the ongoing opioid crisis.

Ideal Option, a provider of outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT), has released its 2025 Annual Outcomes Report for Washington state patients. The report indicates that 96% of long-term patients achieved sustained abstinence from opioids and stimulants during the year.
The data, aggregated from over 7,000 Washington state patients in 2025, highlights significant reductions in substance use. Patients progressing from treatment initiation to maintenance saw a 98% reduction in fentanyl use and an 85% reduction in methamphetamine use during the period.
The report's findings are released as preliminary data suggests a decline in statewide opioid overdose deaths. According to the UW Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI), synthetic opioids, particularly fentanyl, now account for over 90% of opioid-involved deaths in the state.
Ideal Option operates clinics in rural areas of Washington, aiming to bring specialized addiction medicine to underserved regions. The organization also reported receiving 1,172 referrals from 30 Washington correctional facilities in 2025, supporting continuity of care for justice-involved individuals upon release.
