ID.me Appoints New Chief Legal Officer and EVP of Engineering

ID.me, a digital identity network, has expanded its executive team with the appointments of Susannah Stroud Wright as Chief Legal Officer and Darragh Whelan as Executive Vice President of Engineering.

Wright will oversee the company's legal, compliance, and government affairs functions, particularly as ID.me scales its use of artificial intelligence. Whelan is tasked with leading all product and platform engineering efforts.

The company stated these appointments are strategic given the increasing interconnectedness of legal and technical challenges in digital verification and AI. "Susannah and Darragh both bring decades of expertise at a time when product, user, and legal questions are increasingly interconnected," said Founder and CEO Blake Hall.

Wright previously served as Chief Legal Officer at Credit Karma, where she built and led a legal and compliance organization during a period of significant growth. Whelan joins from Mastercard, where he led engineering teams focused on AI and large-scale decisioning systems. He also held engineering leadership roles at Chime.

ID.me provides a digital identity wallet that allows individuals to securely prove their identity online, used by numerous government agencies and healthcare organizations.
