ieGeek has opened pre-orders for its ZY-Q5 security system, which offers local video storage and solar-assisted cameras without subscription fees.

Security hardware manufacturer ieGeek has opened pre-orders for its ZY-Q5 security camera system across the UK and Europe. The system pairs 5-megapixel outdoor cameras with a central base station, allowing homeowners to manage security feeds locally via microSD cards up to 512GB, bypassing the need for recurring cloud subscription fees.
The base station supports up to eight individual cameras, which users monitor through the ieGeek Cam mobile application. The hardware features AI-based motion detection, full-color night vision, and two-way audio. Additionally, the cameras include integrated solar charging panels and an IP65 weather-resistance rating for outdoor environments.
General sales for the ZY-Q5 are scheduled to begin on November 15, 2026, with initial shipments expected to depart on November 25. The company also noted plans to participate in upcoming Black Friday promotional events, offering discounts on a range of its home security products.
