IEHP Marks 30 Years of Health Care Service in Inland Empire

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is commemorating 30 years of delivering health care services to the Inland Empire region. The organization announced its anniversary with the "30 Years, Caring Together" campaign, timed with World Heart Day, to recognize local partnerships that aim to make healthcare more accessible and of higher quality.

Established in September 1996, IEHP initially served 62,000 Medi-Cal members through a network of 650 healthcare professionals. Today, IEHP provides affordable health coverage to 1.4 million individuals, representing approximately one-third of the Inland Empire's population. The plan has expanded access to care through community-based initiatives, including vaccination clinics, pediatric screenings, and telehealth options.

"What started as an innovative idea to maintain local access to healthcare has grown into a dynamic community of over a million people who trust us with their health," stated IEHP CEO Jarrod McNaughton. "That's why, in observance of World Heart Day, we honor IEHP's long-standing commitment to serving those most impacted by inequity, as compassion and service have always been the core of who we are."

The "IEHP 30 for 30" challenge is a key component of the anniversary celebration, encouraging members and the community to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity five days a week for 30 days throughout October and November. Activities can range from walking and cycling to meditation and chair exercises. IEHP will also host community events at its Wellness Centers to foster well-being and togetherness.
