IELTS Exams Canceled Due to Technical Issues; Extra Sessions and Reimbursements Offered
Multiple IELTS exam sessions in China were canceled in early October due to technical problems. The organizer is now offering additional exam dates and covering travel expenses for affected candidates.

The British Council has provided details regarding the cancellation of several IELTS exam sessions in mainland China from October 10-13. The cancellations, affecting both regular tests and single-module resits, were attributed to technical reasons.
The disruptions impacted numerous candidates, with some reportedly notified of cancellations only after the exams had begun. The British Council has apologized for the situation and confirmed full refunds for the affected exam fees.
To address the cancellations, two additional free exam sessions have been scheduled for October 19 and 20. Candidates whose exams were canceled can register for these sessions. Those unable to attend the makeup dates will receive a voucher for a future exam, valid until the end of December. Furthermore, candidates who traveled from other cities for the canceled exams can apply for reimbursement of reasonable transportation and accommodation costs upon providing valid receipts.
The British Council is also issuing certificates of the situation for candidates who need them for applications to overseas institutions or embassies.
