Healthcare communications agency ifemedi GmbH conducted a summer outing for its employees, combining recreation with exploration of local sites in East Frisia, near the Dutch border.
The excursion commenced with a visit to Nieuwe Statenzijl, situated on the Dutch-German border. This location featured a coffee stand offering homemade apple cake and an impressive lock system, alongside a scenic wetland walking path. Participants also visited the Kiekkaaste bird-watching station overlooking the Dollart.
The journey continued to the Bohrinsel Dyksterhusen platform in the middle of the Dollart, a remnant from former test drilling operations. The day concluded with a visit to Wynhamster Kolk, the lowest point in the Netherlands, now a site with a watermill.
The outing culminated in ifemedi's traditional fish dinner at the "Altes Haus am Siel" restaurant in Ditzum, known for its fresh fish and regional cuisine.
