Chinese AI firm iFlytek released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, reporting a 31.05% year-over-year increase in net profit attributable to the parent company, totaling 226 million yuan. Overall revenues for the period rose by 7.99% to 6.57 billion yuan.

The company's reported net profit includes significant research and development expenditures, which exceeded 1.7 billion yuan, representing over 25% of total revenue. This heavy investment in R&D led to a decline in the non-recurring net profit, which fell to a loss of 126 million yuan, a decrease of 580.7% compared to the same period last year.

iFlytek specializes in artificial intelligence technologies, focusing on intelligent speech recognition and natural language processing. The company's strategy emphasizes sustained high investment in research and development to maintain its technological edge. While overall revenue saw growth, specific business segments experienced varied performance; government sector business declined, whereas smart education and smart healthcare sectors achieved over 20% growth.

Looking ahead, iFlytek is preparing to launch an upgraded version of its "Xinghuo" large language model. This new iteration will leverage fully domestic computing power and aims to enhance integrated cloud-and-device solutions and multi-modal human-computer interaction. The company reiterates its commitment to technological self-reliance and strategic investments to support its long-term development.
