iG advances to League of Legends S16 semifinals
LPL seed iG secured a spot in the 2026 League of Legends World Championship semifinals after a 3–1 victory over TES.
The professional esports organization iG has advanced to the semifinal round of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship. The team defeated TES 3–1 in the quarterfinal stage, marking their return to the tournament's final four for the first time in seven years.
The series saw iG establish early control, with jungler Wei earning MVP honors in the first and third games. Although TES managed to secure the second game behind a strong performance from their top laner, 369, iG maintained consistency throughout the series, leveraging key team fights and map control to close out the victory.
As the fourth seed from the LPL region, iG’s defeat of the third-seeded TES represents a significant turnaround for the organization. The victory guarantees a semifinal berth, ending a lengthy absence from the final stages of the international competition.
