Ilkka Uusitalo Elected Chair of Metsäliitto Cooperative's Supervisory Board

Metsäliitto Cooperative's Representative Council decided on interest payments and surplus refunds for owner-members. Ilkka Uusitalo was elected as the new Chair of the Supervisory Board.

Metsäliitto Cooperative's Representative Council, at its annual meeting on April 29, 2026, decided on the interest to be paid on owner-members’ capital. Based on the 2025 result, the cooperative will pay 5.0% interest on statutory participation shares, 4.5% on Metsä1 additional shares, 1.0% on A additional shares, and 0.75% on B additional shares. A surplus refund of EUR 0.30 per cubic meter of industrial roundwood received from members over the last four full financial periods was also decided.

The total profit distribution for the year will be approximately EUR 88 million. The surplus refund based on wood trade accounts for roughly 17% of this amount. The interest on members’ capital and the surplus refunds will be paid on May 11, 2026.

At its organizing meeting on April 29, 2026, the Supervisory Board of Metsäliitto Cooperative elected Ilkka Uusitalo, an agricultural and forestry entrepreneur, as its new Chair. Uusitalo has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2017 and succeeds Juha Paajanen, who had served as Chair since 2017.

Jari Laineenoja will continue as Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board. Kimmo Tiilikainen was elected as a new member of the Supervisory Board, replacing Juha Paajanen. Several other members whose terms were expiring were re-elected.
