In September, over 125 Illinois American Water employees participated in the company's annual AmerICANs In Action! Month of Service. Volunteers contributed a total of more than 475 hours of work to 13 local organizations across the state. The efforts focused on addressing food insecurity, neighborhood revitalization, environmental stewardship, youth needs, and community health.

The company's month of service highlights employees' commitment to the communities where they live and work. Projects undertaken ranged from supporting blood drives and sorting food donations to cleaning rivers and demolishing abandoned properties. One notable effort involved removing truckloads of tires during the Livingston County Environmental Association's Vermillion River Clean-Up.

Illinois American Water collaborated with organizations such as the American Red Cross, Eastern Illinois Foodbank, and local United Way chapters. Employees also assisted in building wheelchair ramps, supporting charity golf tournaments, and collecting bedding for homeless youth through Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

These activities are part of the company's broader commitment to local communities. Illinois American Water has previously supported local initiatives, including the Illinois River Sweep cleanup, which was facilitated by a grant from the American Charitable Foundation for Water & Environment. The volunteer work strengthens the relationship between the company and the community, helping to meet local needs.
