Chinese automaker IM Motors has announced that it will soon launch its new all-electric SUV, the LS8 NEO. The vehicle is described as a large, five-seat flagship SUV and will come equipped with batteries from CATL and the company's "all-line control" chassis system.

IM Motors has not yet provided a specific launch date but indicated that the release is imminent. The model is expected to build upon its previously launched hybrid version of the LS8, which combines gasoline and electric power. The LS8 hybrid, released in April, started at 249,800 yuan (approximately $34,000 USD) for the five-seat configuration and 269,800 yuan (approximately $37,000 USD) for the six-seat version.

Details on the LS8 NEO suggest it will share many features with its hybrid predecessor. These include a large 27.1-inch 5K display and a 15.6-inch 3K passenger entertainment screen. The vehicle incorporates the IM AIOS smart cockpit system, integrating the Qianwen large language model and AIOS system to support IM Ultra Agent functionality for more natural interaction.

Furthermore, the new LS8 model is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems. It comes standard with a 520-line LiDAR sensor and an NVIDIA Thor chip, providing high-level autonomous driving capabilities. The all-electric LS8 NEO is positioned to compete in China's rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.
