International Medical Group (IMG) has finalized the acquisition of World Nomads, enhancing its global travel insurance distribution capabilities and expanding its presence in key international markets.
SYDNEY, Oct. 1, 2026 – International Medical Group (IMG) has announced the completion of its acquisition of World Nomads, a company specializing in travel insurance. The deal, first revealed in February 2026, is designed to bolster IMG's global distribution network for travel insurance products and increase its footprint in significant international territories.
World Nomads, which provides services to travelers in over 100 countries, has developed a reputation for its specialized insurance offerings and safety advice tailored for adventure travelers. IMG CEO Will Nihan stated that the completion of the acquisition represents a significant milestone for the company.
The integration aims to merge World Nomads' established brand and customer base with IMG's broader global resources. Together, the entities will offer travel protection and assistance solutions to millions of travelers worldwide. This acquisition notably strengthens IMG's market presence in the United States, the United Kingdom, European Union countries, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and Canada.
IMG, a subsidiary of SiriusPoint, has been providing international insurance and assistance services since 1990. World Nomads, founded in 2002, focuses on adventure travel, offering coverage for a wide range of unforeseen events, including medical emergencies and activities across more than 250 adventure sports and pursuits.
