Immersion Corp. has introduced Haptic Ad Service, an industry-first comprehensive service that allows advertisers to add "touch effects" to premium HTML mobile video ads. The cloud-based solution integrates with existing workflows using VAST and VPAID standards to serve and sync haptic effects with ads in real-time.

The touch effects are designed to create more engaging and immersive mobile ads and brand experiences. Early metrics from an outstream mobile video campaign indicated that users exposed to ads with haptics were 51 percent more likely to unmute their phones to engage further with the content.

A study commissioned by Immersion and conducted by Research Now® in partnership with Teads revealed that outstream video ads with haptics resulted in a 41 percent increase in purchase intent and a 75 percent increase in ad awareness. The study also found that 71 percent of users agreed haptics made the ad more interesting.

Haptic Ad Service provides tools for creating, managing, and distributing haptic effects, including the TouchSense Design Cloud for creatives and the TouchSense Campaign Manager for campaign tracking and optimization. Immersion also offers custom haptic design services.
