Imperial Celebrates Costa Ricans Abroad With Cultural Events
Imperial, Costa Rica's beer, launches 'Es de Ticos' to bring cultural experiences to expatriates. The initiative will host events in cities with significant Costa Rican communities.

Imperial, a beer brand from Costa Rica, has launched the 'Es de Ticos' initiative aimed at reconnecting expatriate Costa Ricans with their national culture. The program will organize cultural experiences, including traditional Costa Rican dinners, piñata activities, masked performances, and comedy monologues, in various cities worldwide.
The initiative seeks to celebrate the traditions and experiences that form the core of Costa Rican identity. Initial target cities include Toronto and Medellín, both hosting significant Costa Rican communities that maintain active ties to their homeland.
The number of Costa Ricans living abroad is substantial, with over 63,000 registered to vote from overseas in 2026, highlighting the global presence of the diaspora. These communities have formed due to opportunities in education, employment, and family reunification.
'Es de Ticos' aims to strengthen this connection by offering authentic pieces of Costa Rican culture, fostering a sense of community, and providing opportunities to reconnect with roots. Fabián Loría, Imperial's brand manager, stated the initiative seeks to recognize and celebrate the elements that unite Costa Ricans, regardless of their location.
