Implantica Establishes 15th RefluxStop™ Center in Spain

Implantica AG has launched its 15th RefluxStop™ Center in Spain, located at the Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias in Oviedo. This expansion signifies the growing availability of the company's advanced treatment for acid reflux within the Spanish healthcare system.

The new center was established by surgeon Dra. Maria Moreno Gijón, who performed the initial RefluxStop™ procedures at the facility. The Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias is identified as a key hospital in the Asturias region, recognized for its adoption of innovative technologies for complex conditions.

This latest opening highlights a rapid rollout of RefluxStop™ centers in Spain, with 15 established since the product's launch two years ago. Implantica's CEO Peter Forsell noted that the pace of adoption reflects a significant demand for new approaches to treating acid reflux.

RefluxStop™ is a CE-marked medical device designed to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) by addressing the underlying cause without encircling the esophagus. This approach offers an alternative for patients who do not respond adequately to medical treatments like proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
