Inc42 Hosts D2CX Converge in Indore to Guide Consumer Brand Building

Inc42, in partnership with Shadowfax, hosted its D2CX Converge event in Indore, India. The meetup brought together over 50 founders and operators from India's consumer brand ecosystem to discuss strategies for building lasting brands.

The Indian e-commerce market is projected to grow from $165 billion in 2026 to $450 billion by 2031. The direct-to-consumer (D2C) economy is expected to surge from $65 billion to $310 billion during the same period. This growth underscores a shift towards building enduring customer relationships, efficient omnichannel operations, and sustainable profitability.

The event covered topics including brand building, inventory management, capital allocation, customer retention, and profitability. A key session featured Koskii's omnichannel growth strategy, which has reportedly propelled the brand to over ₹250 crore (approximately $30 million). Koskii leverages technological innovation alongside decades of retail experience to optimize inventory and product assortments.

"I've been in this business for more than 30-35 years. I still can't predict what you people will like... I've decided not to predict," said Umar Akhter, Cofounder & CEO of Koskii. "What we very simply do is... and the beauty of what we have done is we have built an entire tech stack that does only that for us."

Other discussions emphasized data-driven decision-making, strong operational fundamentals, and viewing funding as a tool to unlock opportunities rather than an end goal. Inc42 continues to organize similar events to support India's growing consumer brand sector.
