Indian Brand Mivi Enters Smartphone Market

Indian consumer electronics brand Mivi has officially announced its diversification into the smartphone market, with its first product scheduled for release in September. The move marks a significant expansion for a company primarily known for audio devices. Mivi revealed on the X platform that the new 5G smartphone will be launched in India next month. Early promotional images suggest a green color variant, a flat design on the back, and straight edges. The device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. According to a report by tech media outlet 91Mobiles, the upcoming smartphone is anticipated to be priced under 15,000 Indian rupees (approximately $180 USD). The report further claims that Mivi's 5G phone could be the only device in its price segment to feature a Snapdragon processor. Mivi's existing product portfolio includes Bluetooth speakers, TWS earbuds, soundbars, and home theater systems. The entry into the competitive Indian smartphone market will test the brand's ability to capture market share against established players.
