Indian Space Startup OXG Space Raises $1.8 Million

Indian space technology firm OXG Space has raised $1.8 million (INR 170 million) in a seed funding round led by Aum Ventures, a deeptech venture capital firm.

The funding will support OXG Space's "Mission Synapse" program, a 12-month initiative to demonstrate Ka-band phased-array antenna, a deployable mesh reflector, and a deployable solar array in orbit. Founded by former Indian Space Research Organisation engineers Akash Shetty and Sanjay Gorur, OXG Space focuses on creating in-orbit computing and connectivity solutions for Earth observation satellites.

The startup's technology aims to process and relay satellite data in space before it is sent to ground stations, enhancing data transmission efficiency. This approach seeks to reduce reliance on terrestrial infrastructure and enable faster data processing for satellite applications.

OXG Space is positioning itself within the growing market for in-orbit computing. This latest funding round will enable the company to advance its technological development and further establish its presence in the competitive space technology sector.
