Startup funding in India saw a significant surge during the first week of November, with 20 companies securing a cumulative $255 million between November 2 and 6. This represents a 96% increase in total funding compared to the previous week's $130.3 million, although the total number of deals dropped by 38% to 20 transactions.
E-commerce led the funding activity, primarily driven by GIVA’s $103 million raise. The media and entertainment sector also saw substantial capital injection, with EloElo Group securing $80 million in a Series C round backed by investors including NBCUniversal and Hornbill Capital. Additionally, the deeptech sector showed resilience, with four companies raising a combined $21 million.
Broader market developments also signaled maturity within the Indian financial ecosystem. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has cleared Razorpay for an IPO, which is expected to value the firm at approximately $5.6 billion, with a listing slated for early 2027. Meanwhile, wealth management group Daksham Capital launched its inaugural consumer-focused fund with a target corpus of approximately $35 million.
